About the project
The Small and Medium Enterprise Assistance for Recovery and Transition (SMART) is a four-years project funded by USAID and implemented by DAI Global. SMART provides rapid recovery and sustainable revitalization of the Palestinian private sector. SMART goals can be summarized as:
- React quickly to the serious losses faced by the Palestinian private sector and assist in boosting the
competitiveness of businesses with the potential to gain market share and create jobs.
- Assist the private sector in Palestine in restoring economic productivity and create an infrastructure for long-term expansion and growth.
- Promote economic growth and self-reliance in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza (WBG).
- This project aimed to assisting the private sector in Palestine in restoring economic productivity and create an infrastructure for long-term expansion and growth. In addition to promoting economic growth and self-reliance in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza (WBG). The project has resulted in the development of new guidelines concerning the relationships with partners and third parties; financial and administrative principles for entering into relationships and interventions with various partners and third parties, the development of measures needed to mainstream gender issues within projects, activities and procedures to be taken within PITA, in addition to preventing any sexual exploitation or harassment in the workplace or activities implemented within PITA’s operations. There were various results and a great impact of this project that all serve the main goals and visions of this project.
